Carlotta Valentinis — Active Artwork

Carlotta is an emerging artist whose work is an act of deep listening where material and territory converge. Her practice is rooted in sustainable painting: she personally harvests stones, earth, and minerals, transforming them through artisanal processes into unique pigments. For Carlotta, "making the paint is already beginning to paint". Recently a resident at GlogauAIR Berlin (2026), she has collaborated with Ars Electronica and led research for the CSIC. Trained at Escola Massana and UdK Berlin under Robert Lucander, she integrates body movement and writing into her visual practice. Her research has been exhibited at the Bethanien Kunstquartier in Berlin, the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, and the Stripart collective in Barcelona.
