Lucía Cheves Dauber
Guatemalan artist who believes in art as a form of memory, not as a souvenir but as a living presence. Her work is born from the intersection of the inherited and the chosen, between what was given and what she decided to sustain. She paints to preserve and translate, ensuring that what inhabits her is not forgotten even if it is no longer in sight. Working with mixed media, oil, acrylic, collage, she explores layers that transmit ancestral knowledge through time, care, and silence. Her work does not illustrate or explain, but opens space for what still deserves to be seen. Painting from the feminine and her Mayan roots as a living gesture, her art is a conversation between heritage and learning to let go. Key exhibitions include AEDES ARBORIBUS-UCM Madrid, Wuppertal, Woman’s Museum Bonn, and most recently Tiembla el suelo in Barcelona 2026.
